Steve inherited a tough situation at Louisville after Bobby Petrino left, as several players were dismissed for disciplinary reasons and the team plunged from the top of the Big East to near the bottom. The Cards were 1-2 vs. the Syracuse University football team under Kragthorpe. I usually cover the opposing team on game day, and I always found Steve to be honest and forthright with me. Personally, I think it’s great to see a coach put his family first in a time of crisis. My well wishes to the Kragthorpes.
