I was actually never aware of the fear that people experience approaching a cosmetics counter until enough customers had said to me point blank ‘I was very intimidated coming to the counter today’ after I had made them feel comfortable enough to tell me that !

The best time to find bargains is during Dubai Summer Surprises (15 June – YSL Pumps 31 July 2012) and Dubai Shopping Festival (20 Jan – 20 Feb 2012). I would definitely say jewellery is a good buy here and diamonds and gold in particular. Rugs are too, just be careful to negotiate a good shipping rate if you make a big purchase like that as it can add a considerable amount to the overall bill.
